Please Calm Down (When Training Your Dog)

When I started training my first dog (my own) in 1999, I had no idea what I was doing. I knew I wanted a dog in my life but how to modify so-called “bad” behaviour was something of which I was completely ignorant. I started out by getting angry at the dog for behaviour I… Read More Please Calm Down (When Training Your Dog)

Please Ignore My Dog

One day I was walking Ira down the street, which is normally very quiet and almost never has traffic or people walking. There happened to be a woman coming towards us down the middle of the road. How To Get Your Dog Trained Faster

I know what your going to say. Another “train your dog fast”, quick fix, post or advertisement on dog training. Well, not exactly. Don’t Train Your Dog To Do Tricks

While on the internet, I often come across posts and videos about training your dog to do tricks. Some of these posts were new and some have been around for a while.  To me it seems like there is a certain population who have decided training particular things to their dogs are not appropriate. One… Read More Don’t Train Your Dog To Do Tricks

About This Blog

My dogs were listed as #42 on the dog breed intelligence list. Not accurate in my experience with my own dogs and my client’s dogs.

So I set out to find why this was and dispel the myths around training certain dog breeds. I changed my attitude and my training method and life with dogs became more fun.

Ira worked on a higher perch today doing side-stepping. A little more wobbly for him but it was no problem. #caninefitness #kuvasz
JoJo and I are working on stretches for heeling. Dogs are athletes so we need to treat them as such. We're taking a course on conditioning for competition heeling from Fenzi Dog Sports Academy.
Ira is doing #parkour now. He likes the table because he can see over the fence better 😆 #dogparkour #kuvasz
