Teaching retrieve from scratch

Part 3 of our series on teaching the retrieve from scratch is here. This video features our Tommy who came to use without any interest in chasing things (fear), and an inability to function when scolded or forced to do something. We found that when we got him four years ago he was petrified of many things, especially loud voices, and would freeze up and not move out of fear. That is when my clicker training got really serious and technical – so I could learn how to train this boy. He is now retrieveing short distances. Part 4 will be out when Tommy has advanced more in this behaviour. Happy Training!
